This role is based at our Clever Core NZ plant, Cavendish Drive, Manukau, so great for someone wanting to reduce their commute or work closer to home. We have plenty of on site parking and it is close to motorway networks.
We have 2 roles available. Both these roles are team leader positions where you will be leading a team of carpenters in our manufacturing plant with a focus on the floor cassette and the roof sections. It is a role that will enable you to continue in the building and construction industry that you are so passionate about, but put your leadership and most of all training skills to great use. Your work site will be out manufacturing plant, so indoors, out of the elements. This part of the work is not on a automated line so does require technical skill to put the components together as well as setting out the flooring, ceiling lining, machining and general construction. This role will really appeal to those that are passionate about the building industry but may want to step back from the more physically demanding aspects of onsite work and are keen to put travelling to multiple sites across Auckland behind them.
We are open to the type of background you have. You may be a qualified builder wanting to take a different career path, or a hands on architect, you don't necessarily have to be an LBP. But you will need to be very experienced in the residential building industry and have built a range of house types. You need to have a natural aptitude for training and leading in a positive manner that will not only get the job done, but also create a positive and engaging environment. You will need to be able to demonstrate sound experience or understanding of the methodology used on the roof and floor cassette construction. This role is still a hands on role and as it is a manufacturing environment, the ability to work at pace and inspire others to do so is very important.
