Join Iplex and lead quality excellence across our operations!  We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Lead for in a contract role, working four days per week, to champion compliance with engineering specifications and ISO standards while providing technical support for quality assurance activities.

Due to increased demand on our existing quality team, we require additional fixed-term support to ensure our documentation, procedures and training programs are effective and aligned with operational needs. In this role, you will work closely with sales teams and customers to deliver expert technical guidance, develop and refine processes and procedures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our quality performance. You will also play a key role in supporting training programs to embed best practices across the business. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing quality control processes and procedures, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support training for quality assurance practices.
  • Develop training materials and deliver sessions for QA and production teams.
  • Review and enhance QMS framework, identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • Draft and update QA procedures aligned with ISO 9001 and relevant AS/NZS standards (including 1477 and 14001).
  • Map critical workflows such as product testing and non-conformance handling.
  • Lead initiatives to close process gaps and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical input for customer complaints and investigations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material quality requirements are met.
  • Ensure QMS procedures are practical and embedded in daily operations.
  • Update procedures and provide training on product testing and standards compliance.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in plastics manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials).
  • Strong knowledge of IS0 9001 and AS/NZS standards and plastics testing methods.
  • Technical expertise in product application and verification processes, including calculations and minimum wall depth requirements.
  • Ability to interpret compliance certificates and technical standards. 
  • Familiarity with IANZ laboratory requirements and QMS frameworks and proficiency in lab management systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite and a wide range of technology and systems.
