Iplex Pipelines is a leading New Zealand manufacturer of plastic pipeline systems distributing product both locally and internationally. We manufacture and supply pipeline systems for a diverse range of applications including Waters, Plumbing, Gas, Rural, Energy and Communications with members working in manufacturing and distribution in Palmerston North, Christchurch, and Ashburton, with our commercial head office based in Auckland.  

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our manufacturing team in Christchurch. This role supports 4 production lines in a busy 24-hour, 5-day manufacturing environment, and requires someone who is safety conscious, experienced in product testing, excellent document and record keeping and great eye for detail. 

In this role, you will perform a variety of tests on products to ensure requirements under the relevant standards and our customers' needs and expectations are met. You will work on a 12-hour rotating shift pattern comprised of 2-day shifts, followed by 2-night shifts and subsequently 4 days off. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring the following: 

• Basic level of understanding of graphing results i.e. able to interpret minimum, maximum, mean, and trend data.
• Ability to use or learn complex precision instruments and interpret results against standard criteria.
• Legible handwriting and basic computer literacy.
• Demonstrate good communication, mathematical and literacy skills.
• Ability to self-manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
• Methodical, a team player and keen to get involved to further your skills  
• Experience in a quality or manufacturing environment and performing quality testing is advantageous
