Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking a talented and innovative Quality Engineer to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).


About the Role

In this role you’ll manage quality assurance across a major infrastructure project, working closely with design, construction, and client representatives through OIM team to deliver high-quality outcomes and successful project handovers.

  • Manage and implement project quality assurance systems and documentation
  • Coordinate Workplans and Workpacks to ensure compliance and approvals
  • Conduct internal and external audits, inspections, and snag inspections
  • Monitor and close out non-conformances and quality incidents
  • Support project handover and defect liability processes
  • Promote a positive quality culture and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years’ experience as an Engineer on a civil, infrastructure or structural project or equivalent experience in a quality role in construction industry
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2008 and project documentation systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

About Te Awa Kairangi 

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme. 

Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.  Design is underway and construction is due to commence in late 2025.
