Description

About Us

At Fletcher Living, we don’t just build houses. We do living. Creating spaces where people can live the life they want. We know diversity doesn’t just make great neighbourhoods; it builds great companies. A place where you can be you, where you can live your best.

Why Join Us?

We’re a high performing business and are proud to say that we have a highly engaged and successful team. We have a fantastic people culture and encourage everyone to bring their full and genuine selves to work. Our workplaces are enriched by many different nationalities, languages, religions, and customs. We’re proud of this diversity and understand that it brings a richer and broader perspective to how we operate by helping us connect better with our people and with our customer base.

The Role

The role is based at our Penrose Branch which oversees a variety of communities we’re developing around the Auckland Central surrounding areas. The position focuses on Measuring/Estimating, Commercial Evaluations, Purchase Order Processing and approval of payments. The quantity surveyor will also be responsible for the reporting and monitoring of internal budgets for the projects they are involved with. This role is office-based and we do encourage our QS team to go to their sites to help build valued relationships with the contractor teams.

About You

We’re looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years’ experience within the multi dwelling residential sector. You must have strong communication and sharp negotiation skills, the ability to read and understand technical drawings and have excellent computer skills. We’re also after someone who has a positive can-do attitude, an eye for opportunities, and is willing to contribute ideas to improve our processes and add value to the homes we deliver.

Benefits

This role will see you working with a high performing, close-knit team, with a clear vision and goals. You will be encouraged to share ideas and will have the opportunity to get involved in activities outside of a traditional QS role, such as Health & Safety, and building relationships with the Construction team on site. And, of course, you’ll also get to enjoy the security, benefits and recognition that come with working for a well-respected business unit within the Fletcher Building Group.

Application Process

Applications should be made by submitting a CV and cover letter outlining your interest, motivation and what you would bring to this role by way of background, experience and fit for the role and our team.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t always apply for roles unless they match 100% of the requirements. So, if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t quite fit, we encourage you to apply anyway. We welcome your individuality. We are enriched by so many nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We are proud of our diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger.
