The Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Christchurch regional team, which oversees a variety of communities we’re developing around Canterbury. Projects will include medium density townhouses and traditional subdivisions as well as larger scale apartments builds with car parks and recreational areas. Your role as a QS on these projects will include but not be limited to:

- Leading and managing projects of varying complexity and sizes

- Completing project estimates and measures

- Negotiation and Management of supplier and contractor agreements

- Take offs for construction

- Preparation of purchase orders and monthly payments

- Financial reporting

You will be working closely with other QS’s, as well as the wider branch team in Sales, Design, and Construction. Our Christchurch office offers a fun and relaxed environment and has plenty of experienced people for you to bounce off. You will be encouraged to share ideas and will have the opportunity to get involved in activities outside of a traditional QS role, such as Health & Safety, and building relationships with the Construction team on site.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has minimum of 3-4 years’ proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the New Zealand construction industry. You will need to have a positive, can-do attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Excel and Cost X.
