Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).

About the Role

You'll play a key role in keeping project costs on track and supporting commercial decision-making. Working alongside experienced commercial and construction professionals, you'll help manage budgets, forecasts, subcontract costs, reporting, and contract administration from project delivery through to completion. This is an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working closely with project teams, solving problems, and turning numbers into practical insights.

  • Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and expenditure across multiple work activities
  • Assist with monthly forecasting, cost-to-complete reporting, and earned value analysis
  • Review subcontractor, labour, plant, and material costs to support commercial performance
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, reconciliations, and financial reporting information
  • Support contract administration, procurement activities, and payment certification processes
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting within project management systems

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Around 5+ years' experience in quantity surveying, commercial, or contract administration roles 
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, subcontract management, and project cost control
  • Experience working with NZS3910, alliance contracts, target cost contracts, or similar delivery models
  • Strong working knowledge of CCS Candy
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with commercial reporting and cost management systems
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to build positive working relationships across project teams

About Te Awa Kairangi 

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme.  Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
