Description

Reporting to the General Manager – Higgins, this role is responsible for overall performance of the Auckland region, delivering sustainable and profitable outcomes aligned to Higgins’ strategy.

The Auckland region is a profitable, complex contracting business with approximately 200 employees, significant assets, and a strong safety and delivery track record. The role provides leadership of the regional business, with accountability across safety, people leadership, operational delivery, plant and asset utilisation, financial performance, and commercial outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own and deliver regional P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin, cost control and cash outcomes
  • Translate strategy into clear, executable regional plans and deliver against agreed performance targets
  • Provide visible, values led leadership across a multi disciplinary regional operation
  • Lead and embed a strong safety, quality and risk management culture
  • Maintain and strengthen client, partner and stakeholder relationships in a competitive market
  • Build leadership depth, capability and succession pipelines across the region
  • Exercise delegated commercial and financial authorities in line with Fletcher Construction governance
About You

You are a senior operational leader with proven capability leading a complex construction business and balancing people, performance and commercial outcomes. You will bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience in roading or civil engineering environments
  • Civil construction experience – essential
  • Asphalt / surfacing experience – essential
  • Road maintenance experience – working knowledge required
  • Demonstrated full P&L accountability at a regional or equivalent business unit level
  • Proven ability to set direction, make enterprise level decisions, and deliver through others
  • Strong track record in winning work and sustaining long term client relationships
  • Credibility to lead through complexity, market pressure and change
  • Clear commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental excellence
  • A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or business is desirable.
