Description

We are currently seeking applications for the role of Region Manager, Hawkes Bay. 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager - Higgins, this role is responsible for leading the Hawkes Bay region to ensure sustainable, profitable growth while contributing to the wider success of Higgins. You’ll oversee a significant regional contracting business with full accountability for safety, people, plant, resources, finance, and commercial performance.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Strengthen delivery across the region while collaborating with the wider Higgins business to standardise and share best practices
  • Drive efficiencies that enhance profitability and customer relationships
  • Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement

About You

You’re a proven leader with a goal-oriented style, balanced by the ability to coach, support, and develop teams in line with our values. You’ll bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience in roading or civil engineering
  • A strong track record in senior regional leadership within the civil/roading sector
  • Demonstrated success in running a commercial business, including full P&L accountability
  • Proven ability to win work, prepare competitive and profitable tenders, and build long-term relationships with senior-level clients, partners, and suppliers
  • A knack for resolving complex issues that impact project or operational performance
  • A commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental excellence

Preferred qualifications include a tertiary degree in civil engineering or business.
