About the Role
We look forward to you joining the team at Fletcher Building as our new Agile Release Train Engineer.
Based at our Penrose Corporate head office, you will be joining the Portfolio Delivery function as part of our wider Group Technology team where the primary objective is to deliver new Digital solutions and services to ensure value can be realised by business units. As the Agile Release Train Engineer, you will be a servant leader and support the successful delivery of the PlaceMakers eCommerce Digital Strategy and roadmap for new digital applications and online services.
The purpose of this role is to lead and coach the Agile Release Train (ART) and the team of solution specialists that deliver and operate the PlaceMakers eCommerce value stream. You’ll be required to facilitate the Agile Release Train events and processes and assist the team in delivering value. You can expect to communicate with a broad group of stakeholders across all levels of the Business, manage risk and implement continual improvements.
Your scope as Release Train Engineer will see you indirectly influence 50-80 people, a combination of internal teams and partners located in various locations based in New Zealand and overseas.
Once the transformation project is underway there’s an outlook to broaden the scope of the role overtime to work with other business units and an outlook of moving part of our workforce to an Agile Methodology long term.
To be successful in the role you will have a minimum of 10 years Project Management experience with 3-5 years as a Senior Programme Manager using Agile Methodologies. You will have a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering projects as well as IT change programmes of high complexity and budgets within large multifaceted organisations. With a strong knowledge of Scaled Agile (SAFe), you’ll be an expert of Programme and Project Management disciplines and industry best practices. A certification of PRINCE2/MSP/P30 or equivalent is desirable.
With a customer centric mindset and an understanding of what motivates and fosters a collaborative team environment, you will have executive level influencing and negotiating skills with the confidence to challenge and influence at executive/board level. You will have successful experience in compiling programme and project business cases, scheduling, financials and benefits management, resource management, risk/issue and scope management. Additionally, you will have demonstrable practical application of both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
