Description

Higgins Waikato has secured a new long-term contract – NZTA’s Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) for the region, and we are looking for a Renewals Manager to join the team and lead the planning and delivery of a complex renewals programme across the full year cycle.

Based from our Morrinsville Depot, you will be responsible for turning approved scope into a safe, well sequenced and commercially sound delivery programme, working closely with contract leadership, delivery teams, and external partners.

This role balances hands on programme ownership with strong commercial awareness. You will guide treatment selection, manage change, track risk, and ensure renewals work is delivered to the required standards while meeting contract commitments.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Plan, manage and deliver the annual renewals programme from approval through to completion
  • Validate treatment selections using asset condition data and forward works information
  • Manage scope, variations, and change control to protect programme and commercial outcomes
  • Lead renewals procurement and oversee subcontractor performance and close out
  • Monitor programme progress, risks, and forecasts and provide clear reporting to contract leadership
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and site stakeholders to resolve issues early

What You’ll Bring to the Role
To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable owning a renewals programme end to end and working across planning, delivery, and commercial discussions. You will bring:
  • A tertiary qualification at NZQF Level 5 or higher in construction, engineering, or a related field
  • At least five years’ experience in renewals, maintenance, or project delivery roles
  • Experience leading small professional teams and coordinating contractors and consultants
  • Strong understanding of the construction project lifecycle and renewal delivery environments
  • Confidence working with asset data, digital delivery systems, and programme planning tools
  • Clear communication skills and a practical, collaborative approach to leadership

What’s on offer:
  • Competitive salary package, with relocation support available
  • KiwiSaver employer contribution matched up to 4%
  • In-house technical training and leadership development programmes
  • Career opportunities across Higgins and Fletcher Construction
  • Educational support for you and your children
  • School holiday programmes and tutoring support
  • Discounts with partners including Southern Cross, ANZ, Z Energy, PlaceMakers, Mico, and Samsung
