Description

The Green Team in Rotorua is looking for a permanent, full-time STMS to join our Traffic Management division. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will lead temporary traffic management activities, keep road users informed, and ensure worksites are set up safely and correctly each day.

You will work closely with site teams and the public, taking responsibility for traffic control set-ups and compliance while being present on site and involved in the day-to-day work.

Key responsibilities include:

Set up, manage, and remove temporary traffic management on live worksites
Design, check, and update Traffic Management Plans to meet required standards
Control traffic using stop/go, signs, and traffic signals as required
Monitor site safety, identify hazards, and take action to address risks
Complete daily documentation, records, and site reporting accurately
Communicate clearly with the public, crews, and supervisors about site activity

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

Current STMS Level 2 or 3 Practising qualification
NZTA TTM Worker certification and relevant traffic control training
Previous experience in roading or traffic management environments
Strong understanding of safe work practices and site compliance
Clear communication skills and confidence working with the public
A reliable, calm approach and willingness to step in when needed
Willingness to take part in an on-call roster
