Description

The role: 
We’re looking for a people-person with a passion for service and a sharp eye for opportunity. In this role, you’ll grow existing accounts, win new business, and make Mico the supplier of choice in the plumbing and building sectors. You will be part of a team of 10 reporting to our Regional Sales Manager.

You will be responsible for: 
  • Ensure our key customers are receiving the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Identifying new sales opportunities both in existing and new customers
  • Working shoulder to shoulder with our branches to grow our market share. 
  • Ensuring regularity of contact so you can be ahead of the game
  • Collaborating with your colleagues and communicating with customers about stock availability, delivery times and pricing
  • Developing relationships within the community and promoting brand awareness 
  • Attending building industry & trade events to keep up to date with market trends  

This is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours a week. Working Monday to Friday. Based the Christchurch area. 

About you:

You will be a resilient, self-driven person who genuinely enjoys, and thrives on building strong credible working relationships. A plumbing or building industry background is a bonus, but your attitude is what will set you apart.

To really understand our customers and to be successful in this role you will need to also demonstrate the following -  
  • Passionate about building rapport and long-lasting customer relationships is an absolute must! 
  • Proven experience in Sales or Business Development and comfortable with cold calling 
  • Knowledge of the plumbing or Building Industry is preferred, but not essential
  • A self-starter with strong organisational & Time management skills
  • Strong sales drive and resilience will be essential with a solutions-focused approach 
  • Disciplined salesperson who thrives on development and expanding their client base
  • Excellent communication skills and highly motivated with exceptional work ethic
  • An out-going and community-minded person with a focus on long-term, credible relationships
  • Clean, full NZ Drivers Licence
