Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sales Representative with strong technical expertise in concrete production and specifications.

This role is ideal for someone who can confidently interpret building plans, advise on mix designs, and provide tailored solutions to builders, contractors, and project managers. By combining technical know-how with proven sales ability, you will create, develop, and strengthen new and existing account relationships for our Firth customers.

• Monday to Friday, full time
• Vehicle, laptop plus mobile phone provided
• Hastings based – frequent travel to key clients across wider Hawkes Bay region

This autonomous role will require you to take responsibility for the development and management of an existing broad base of customer accounts, while also obtaining new business within the regional market to maximise profits and achieve sales objectives. Success will be achieved through thorough account management, deep product knowledge, strong technical expertise, and excellent client relations.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, and project managers 
  • Interpret building plans and specifications to provide accurate pricing and tailored product recommendations 
  • Advise customers on mix design and technical aspects of concrete production 
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products 
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to regional sales growth targets 
  • Stay up to date with industry codes, standards, and technical requirements to support clients with confidence 

What You Will Bring? 
  • You will be an expert at seeking out new business and maintaining confidence with our existing stakeholders, you will ensure that you are up to date with essential product knowledge, relevant industry codes and understanding customer needs. 
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings 
  • Strong knowledge of concrete mix design, production processes, and technical specifications 
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. marketing, sales, business, commerce, engineering, management or similar) or completion of a sales excellence training program is preferred although not essential.
