Description

Firth, part of the Fletcher Building Group, has a long-standing history supporting New Zealand’s construction industry. With around 700 people across 80 sites, Firth supplies ready-mix concrete, masonry products and premix solutions to over 2,500 customers nationwide.

Their work helps shape communities across the country—built on strong partnerships, trusted expertise, and a commitment to doing things well.

We are looking for a relationship-focused sales person, where you’ll nurture existing partnerships while thoughtfully growing your customer base. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to understand needs, provide tailored solutions, and contribute to sustainable sales growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

·         Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with customers

·         Listen carefully to customer needs and provide thoughtful, practical solutions

·         Support customers with enquiries, feedback, and ongoing service

·         Identify opportunities for growth and help bring new ideas to market

·         Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience

·         Maintain accurate sales activity, reporting, and forecasting

·         Contribute to a safe, respectful and collaborative working environment

What You’ll Bring

·         Experience in sales or customer-facing roles

·         A natural ability to connect with people and build long-term relationships

·         Strong communication and active listening skills

·         A thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to problem solving

·         Good planning and organisational skills

·         An understanding of manufacturing, distribution, or supply environments (or willingness to learn)

·         Exposure to construction or building products is helpful, but not essential

What’s On Offer

·         Supportive, team-oriented environment where your voice is valued

·         Opportunities to grow your capability and develop your career

·         A stable, well-established business with strong market presence

·         A culture that prioritises safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement

·         Flexible, collaborative working relationships

At Firth, success is built on trust, care, and collaboration. You’ll be part of a team that values honesty, humility, and supportive leadership—where people work together to achieve shared goals.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
