Description

Build trusted relationships. Support customer success. Help shape the Waikato.
Firth has been developing, manufacturing and delivering concrete products for New Zealand since 1925.

Today, we support projects across residential construction, commercial development, infrastructure and roading, combining local relationships with trusted products and technical expertise.

We are looking for a Sales Representative to care for and grow our Waikato customer relationships.
Reporting to the Area Operations & Sales Manager, you will work closely with customers and colleagues to understand evolving needs, provide responsive support and create sustainable sales opportunities.

What you’ll enjoy
  • A welcoming and supportive team culture
  • In-house learning and career development opportunities
  • Wellbeing support through the Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to the Fletcher Building Employee Education Fund, subject to eligibility
  • Flexible working options where suitable for the role
  • Supportive, gender-neutral parental leave benefits
  • The opportunity to contribute to a trusted New Zealand business with strong regional connections

What will help you succeed
  • Strong experience in sales, account management or customer service
  • A collaborative approach and confidence building relationships with a wide range of people
  • Clear communication, active listening and thoughtful problem-solving skills
  • Good planning, organisation and follow-through
  • An understanding of manufacturing, distribution or supply environments
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer outcomes with sustainable growth
  • Construction, building merchant or New Zealand building-industry experience would be helpful, but is not essential
  • Sales training or a tertiary qualification would also be welcomed

What you’ll bring to the role
  • Build caring, trusted and enduring relationships with customers across the Waikato
  • Listen closely to customer needs and coordinate with sales, marketing, customer service and manufacturing teams
  • Identify and nurture new customer, product and sales opportunities
  • Support regional sales, pricing, forecasting and customer-retention plans
  • Respond promptly and constructively to enquiries, feedback and concerns
  • Prepare accurate quotations, contracts, follow-ups and sales reports
  • Share market insights and help the team continuously improve how we work
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful and environmentally responsible workplace

You do not need to meet every preferred requirement to apply. If you bring relevant experience, curiosity and a genuine commitment to supporting customers and colleagues, we would value hearing from you.

Join Firth and help build strong customer partnerships across the Waikato.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
