Description

The Role:
As Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll be the finance lead for a portfolio of branches, owning end-to-end financial management while partnering closely with Branch Managers and operational leaders. This is a role where your technical expertise meets real commercial impact. 

You’ll be trusted to keep the numbers right, the balance sheet clean, and the insights flowing — while helping branches improve performance and make smart, data-driven decisions. 

We have multiple position available in Wellington, Hamilton and Christchurch/South Island 

What You’ll Be Doing 
  • Leading branch month-end close, reporting and balance sheet integrity 
  • Producing insightful P&L reporting, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis 
  • Acting as a true finance business partner to Branch Managers 
  • Ensuring strong internal controls, compliance and audit readiness 
  • Supporting pricing decisions, cost control and performance dashboards 
  • Contributing to finance projects, system improvements and transformation initiatives 

What We’re Looking For 
  • CAANZ qualified (or equivalent – CPA / ACCA preferred) 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or similar roles 
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Solid systems capability (Excel essential; JDE, TM1, Power BI an advantage) 
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to call out issues and drive solutions
