Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking a talented and innovative Senior Project Engineer to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).


About the Role

As a Senior Project Engineer you’ll lead the delivery of civil works within a designated zone, ensuring engineering excellence across planning, execution, and team leadership.

  • Lead the planning and delivery of engineering activities within a designated zone of the project.
  • Manage construction processes, budgets, and forecasts to meet project milestones and client expectations.
  • Supervise and mentor Project and Site Engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Champion safety, environmental compliance, and quality across all site activities.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive successful outcomes.


What you’ll bring to the role

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering and eligibility for NZ registration.
  • 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering, ideally on large-scale or complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and risk management.
  • Confident leadership with experience guiding multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

About Te Awa Kairangi 

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme. 

Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
