Senior Project Manager | Asphalt Paving
Higgins | Mount Maunganui

About the Role:
This is a senior role within our Asphalt Paving Division, responsible for winning and delivering paving projects across the region. You will manage multiple projects end to end, balance commercial outcomes with safe delivery, and support the growth and capability of your team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead tendering, pricing reviews, and project handover for asphalt paving contracts
  • Own delivery of multiple projects, from planning through to final account
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost to complete reporting with accuracy
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Guide and support a team of Engineers and Supervisors
  • Ensure quality, safety, and environmental requirements are met on all sites

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
You’ll bring practical leadership experience delivering paving projects, with the confidence to manage risk, people, and commercial outcomes at the same time.
You’ll bring:
  • A qualification in construction management, engineering, or similar, or extensive equivalent experience
  • Proven experience leading asphalt or civil infrastructure projects in New Zealand or comparable markets
  • Sound knowledge of contract management, pricing, and cost control
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience coaching project teams
  • Commitment to health, safety, and quality on every project 
  • Understanding of the Construction Contracts Act and the knowledge to apply NZS3910
  • A full clean Class 1 driver licence or equivalent
