What you’ll be doing

In this senior, Auckland‑based role you will:

Lead ColorCote’s national specification strategy, making our products the preferred choice in roofing and cladding.
Build warm, trusted relationships with architects, specifiers, developers, main contractors and industry organisations.
Provide thoughtful technical advice on building projects – from design through to specification – to secure and protect ColorCote specifications.
Partner closely with regional Account Managers and the sales team, sharing insights, coaching on specification best practice and jointly pursuing key projects.
Offer informed market feedback on trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to help shape product development and strategy.
Represent ColorCote with industry bodies and associations, helping to enhance our brand, relationships and influence across the sector.
Travel regularly within New Zealand to stay close to customers, projects and regional teams.

What you’ll bring

We know great people come from a range of backgrounds, and we’re open to different paths into this role. Ideally, you will bring:

A tertiary qualification in a technical discipline (e.g. engineering, building, architecture, construction) or similar applied experience.
At least 5 years’ experience in a technical role within the building or construction industry.
Confidence reading and interpreting building plans, details and specifications, and translating them into practical solutions.
A balanced mix of technical/industry knowledge and commercial or sales awareness, with a genuine interest in understanding customer needs.
Experience engaging with architects, specifiers or industry bodies, and comfort presenting to groups at events or forums.
A collaborative leadership style – you enjoy coaching, sharing knowledge and creating an inclusive, high‑performing team environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, listen actively and co‑design solutions with others.
A commitment to health, safety and wellbeing is essential – you’ll role‑model safe behaviours and support others to do the same.
