Description

Higgins Bay of Plenty is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to join the team based at the branch in Mount Maunganui.

As a Senior Surveyor, you will provide survey services, including quantity measurement, to support construction across multiple work sites. You will also help maintain geospatial data through verification, set-out, as-built surveys, and system integration. Responsibilities include accurate set-out of construction elements, record-keeping, topographical surveys, monitoring data, and ensuring efficient use of survey equipment and best practices while managing survey control points.

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • At least 5 years of relevant New Zealand surveying experience
  • Diploma in Surveying or equivalent industry qualification (Bachelor of Surveying preferred)
  • Expertise in Civil 3D, 12D and multiple CAD packages
  • Strong understanding of survey methodology, civil construction, and paving processes
  • Experience in CAD and BIM services, ensuring spatial accuracy for design and construction teams
  • Full NZ Driver’s License and proficiency in GNSS GPS, robotic total stations, and survey/design software
  • Advanced knowledge of geodesy, earthworks volume calculations, and UAV/drone usage (including Civil Aviation Authority regulations)
  • Effective time management, communication, and leadership skills
