Senior Surveyor - Hawke’s Bay

Higgins Hawke’s Bay is looking for an experienced and reliable Senior Surveyor to join our team. This is a key technical role responsible for delivering accurate surveying data to support our construction and infrastructure projects across the region. If you have strong surveying experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in producing precise, high-quality results, this is a great opportunity to join a well-established team with long term stability.

What you’ll be doing
  • Carrying out land, boundary and construction set out surveys with a high level of accuracy 
  • Using GPS, total stations and other surveying equipment to collect and process data 
  • Preparing survey reports, plans and digital models for project teams 
  • Working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams to ensure correct set out and alignment 
  • Maintaining equipment, managing data, and ensuring all survey records are accurate and up to date 
  • Providing technical support and mentoring to junior surveyors 
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety, environmental and quality standards 
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimise survey processes and project delivery

What you’ll bring
  • Proven experience as a surveyor in civil construction or infrastructure 
  • Strong technical capability with GPS, total station and survey software 
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret plans and specifications 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges 
  • Commitment to safe work practices and quality outcomes 
  • Full NZ driver licence (surveying or engineering qualifications an advantage) 
  • Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic
