We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our close-knit team based in Hamilton or Taupo. Accountable for the Manufacturing arm of the Business, which encompasses our sites in both Hamilton and Taupo, so some travel will be required. Reporting to the Operations Finance Business Partner, you’ll be responsible as a trusted advisor for the provision of accurate and timely financial support. This includes but is not limited to, month end processes, GL reconciliation, financial reporting/analysis, cost centre reviews, capital expense reviews, and budgeting and forecasting. You will also assist the team in providing ERP system support to the company, including material costings, vendor maintenance, and updating bill of materials. This role will give you the opportunity to grow and develop your skillset and become the SME in both the manufacturing process and the business as a whole. 

This role is a true stepping stone to paving an established career path within Laminex and the wider Fletcher Building Group. Supported by an experienced team who can mentor you, you will have the aspiration to develop and further your career in addition to:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CA qualification or working towards, not essential but support would be there is you were working towards CA
  • Proficient in financial reporting, and have advanced excel skills
  • BPCS knowledge, Power BI data modelling and visualisation skills would be an advantage but not essential
  • Your proactive, responsive and innovative approach will be key to your success, as will your ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience or a willingness to work with various systems and do some manual processing while we look to implement SAP in the near future
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a diverse range of finance knowledge levels
  • Someone who is thorough with high attention to detail, a super organised approach and ability to prioritise your workload with efficiency
  • A team player who is open to challenging themselves and the processes around them
