Description

We are seeking a dedicated Site Engineer to join our Surfacing team in Palmerston North. In this fast-paced dynamic role, you will assist the Project Manager, to plan, co-ordinate and deliver the operational aspects of projects.

This is a full time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours up to a maximum of 60 hours per week. You will need to have the flexibility to work additional days/hours as required to meet the needs of the business.  Your day will typically start at 7am and will be based both at the office and frequent site visits.


What you'll enjoy doing

  • Participate in planning, coordinating, and delivering operational aspects of assigned projects.
  • Develop work packs and activity plans.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and broader team to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in pricing, tendering, and securing work.
  • Maintain high quality focus and ensure projects comply with specifications, policies, and regulations
  • Preparation of various reports


What you'll bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (degree or diploma).
  • Proven experience in asphalt, chip sealing, or roading environments.
  • Experience with RAMM
  • Experience with complex and/or large-scale projects.
  • Technical knowledge of roading construction methods, including pavement and surfacing techniques.
  • Full, clean Class 1 New Zealand Driver’s License.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
