Where your story begins: We are seeking an experienced and safety-oriented Site Services Leader for our plant in the southwest of Western Australia. The Laminex manufacturing plant located near Dardanup offers a brilliant workplace culture and a broad range of industrial manufacturing equipment, making it an excellent choice for individuals seeking a Site Services Leader role. The role you’ll play: The role of the Site Services Leader is essential for maintaining site services and facilities, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will provide specialist advice on the technical aspects of site services maintenance and develop service contracts to optimize contractor performance.

This role supports the operational areas to ensure that each team delivers its business plan and targets. It is a responsible position with a mandate to focus on both the 'day to day' operations and longer-term initiatives in each area, continuously improving safety, quality, resource and materials utilization, environmental standards, and staff skills and competencies.

Key focuses & responsibilities will include:
  • Maintenance Planning & Systems: Overseeing planning and scheduling systems, developing shut management systems, and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Site Services & Facilities Maintenance: Managing maintenance of site services (e.g., compressed air system, building maintenance, civil works, air conditioning, cooling towers, water supply, fire systems), site gardening, and general waste removal services. Managing third-party compliance responsibilities and service contracts.
  • Maintenance Management: Handling cost management, shift support, contractor management, improvement projects, root cause analysis, and spare parts strategy.
  • EHS&R: Ensuring contractor health and safety, regulatory compliance for pressure vessels, facilities, and fire systems, and managing environmental issues related to facilities and services.
Additional Duties: Fire detection systems maintenance and adaptations, fire pumps and hydrant maintenance and modifications, ensuring compliance of these systems for 24/7 operation in emergencies, maintenance of road pathways to prevent issues from unattended potholes, parks and gardens maintenance, bore water management, building maintenance, holiday cover for the site Project Engineer, sewers and drains maintenance, electrical tagging of devices, scaffolding, ladder and working heights compliance, asbestos removal program and management, fire extinguisher service and maintenance, management of environmental sampling for DWER compliance, management of painting and carpentry duties across the site, and servicing and renewal of all bicycles, mobile units, front-end loaders, etc.

To be successful in the role you will ideally need to possess:
  • Cert 4 Front Line Management (or equivalent).
  • Electrical or Mechanical trade background.
  • Sound planning/forecasting skills and knowledge of CMMS.
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Developing skills in leading and supervising small teams, including coaching, training, and developing others.
  • High-level organizational skills and effective time management.
  • High level of computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Word/Excel, Lotus Notes) and expertise in computer-based maintenance planning systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
