Description

Who We Are

We’re one of Australia’s biggest and most trusted names in sheds and patios. We’re big enough to have a national network of local shed experts, plus a manufacturing and distribution network that serves the nation, as part of the Stramit family.

We’re also part of one of Australia’s biggest building industry families – Fletcher Building Australia – alongside TradeLink, Oliveri, Laminex and more.

But we’re also small enough to know what our customers want as people – with us, we know that what works for one person, won’t for another.

The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term project-based role, based in Erskine Park.

With a focus on Python-based solution design, in this dynamic role, the software engineer will play a crucial role in advancing ongoing product development and design projects, emphasizing continuous improvement and industry leadership. Responsibilities encompass offering software support to our engineering team, contributing to methodology design, delivering digital engineering solutions, and collaborating with technical teams as needed.

Please note, due to company closure over the holiday break, we will begin to review applications at the commencement of the new year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and scoped delivery of critical development projects, aligned with strategic plans and priorities.
  • Develop and optimize the code base to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Lead the development and evaluation of in-house software and product development initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage stakeholders as necessary to ensure effective project management and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement a design methodology that drives industry leadership through insight-driven research and development, ensuring best-in-class user experiences with optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

What we need from you:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex Python programming (OOP) is essential.
  • Experience in engineering methodology design within software paradigms is required.
  • Strong background in backend optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience in deployment processes.
  • Proven track record in project management methodology and execution.
  • Effective communication skills with technical support experience.
  • Highly disciplined in documentation and version control practices.
  • Strong initiative and creative problem-solving skills.

What we offer
  • Supportive and close-knit team of highly experienced individuals
  • Hybrid workplace: 3 dedicated onsite workdays with flexibility
  • Amazing career development, training, and progression opportunities
  • A Perkbox account – giving you 24/7 access to thousands of perks, benefits, discounts, wellbeing tools and loads more!
  • Strong Inclusion and diversity commitment to our team members including Gender affirmation leave (10 days), and LGBTQ+ Rainbow Tick accreditation.
