About the Role

As a Supply Chain Trainee at our Melbourne Distribution Centre (DC) in Tullamarine, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient distribution and managements of goods and services within our organisation. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Team and gain experience in various internal departments to maintain smooth operations and provide exceptional customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in logistics and supply chain management.

During your traineeship, you will receive formal training to achieve a Certificate III in Supply Chain & Logistics. You will also rotate through different functions of the supply chain and warehouse team at Tullamarine gaining comprehensive experience.

This is full-time position with a competitive salary, and all training costs for the Certificate III in Supply Chain & Logistics will be covered by Laminex. The hours can be flexible but an 8-hour shift will typically be scheduled between 6.00am & 5.00pm with 3 hours per week allocated for study time.

What Might a Day in This Job Look Like?

As a Supply Chain Trainee, your day will be dynamic and engaging, filled with various development roles and duties, including but not limited to Warehouse Management, Transport Management, Administration, Inventory Control and will also be included in the Site Leadership Team which is responsible for a smooth operation of our logistics department. Some initial Duties will include:

Assisting in processing customer orders, ensuring accurate and complete information is recorded and necessary documentation is prepared.
Supporting the team in scheduling and coordinating the delivery of goods and services to customers using the most efficient routes and methods available.
Acting as a primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal departments, providing timely updates and addressing any issues or inquiries related to despatch and delivery.
Monitoring the progress of shipments and deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and proactively addressing any potential delays or disruptions.

Qualifications:

High school Year 12 completion or equivalent
Previous warehouse or supply chain experience is regarded but not essential
Strong attention to detail to accurately process orders, maintain records, and track shipments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders
Exceptional organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise work accordingly
Strong problem-solving skills to address unforeseen challenges and find efficient solutions
Comfortable using computer systems and software applications for order processing, data analysis, and record-keeping
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and work well under pressure
Willingness to collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
