We have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor to join the Engineering Services team in Wellington, contributing to the Te Awa Kairangi Alliance and supporting regional projects

The Engineering Services Team at Fletcher Construction provide consulting services support to the wider construction teams across Major Projects, Brian Perry Civil and Higgins. Our diverse team specialise in Temporary Works and Construction Design and Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, CAD and Modelling, Surveying and industry innovation.

As a Surveyor, you will provide survey services, including quantity measurement, to support construction across multiple work sites. You will also help maintain geospatial data through verification, set-out, as-built surveys, and system integration. Responsibilities include accurate set-out of construction elements, record-keeping, topographical surveys, monitoring data, and ensuring efficient use of survey equipment and best practices while managing survey control points.

What you’ll bring to the role:

At least 5 years of relevant New Zealand surveying experience, including 3 years focused on construction surveying
Diploma in Surveying or equivalent industry qualification (Bachelor of Surveying preferred)
Expertise in Civil 3D, 12D, Trimble Business Center and multiple CAD packages
Strong understanding of survey methodology, civil construction, and paving processes
Experience in CAD and BIM services, ensuring spatial accuracy for design and construction teams
Full NZ Driver’s License and proficiency in GNSS GPS, robotic total stations, and survey/design software
Advanced knowledge of geodesy, earthworks volume calculations, and UAV/drone usage (including Civil Aviation Authority regulations)
Effective time management, communication, and leadership skills
Commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency
