Description

Higgins Wairarapa is looking for an experienced and motivated TTM Supervisor to join our Traffic Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong traffic management experience and proven leadership capability to play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant traffic management services across a variety of civil construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects throughout the Wairarapa region.

What you'll be doing
  • Coordinating daily traffic management activities to meet programme and resource requirements
  • Liaising with Supervisors, Project Engineers & Managers to ensure crews are fully briefed and equipped
  • Managing the traffic diary and keeping management informed of upcoming work and opportunities
  • Ensuring TMPs, TMDs and all site documentation are accurate, up to date and compliant
  • Submitting and tracking TMP approvals to meet client and road controlling authority requirements
  • Conducting site audits to ensure correct set-ups, documentation, and safety standards
  • Coaching and upskilling traffic teams, including labour hire staff and trainees
  • Maintaining traffic stock, equipment, and yard organisation
  • Leading toolbox meetings and promoting a strong safety culture
  • Addressing performance or behavioural issues promptly and constructively
  • Ensuring all paperwork, timesheets and purchase records are completed accurately and on time
  • Supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational efficiency
  • Responsible for the cost and revenue for the traffic division

What you'll bring
  • STMS Level 1 qualification (essential)
  • Construct Safe Tier 1 and Site Safe Civil Passport
  • Solid TTM experience with supervisory exposure
  • Strong working knowledge of NZGTTM
  • Ability to prepare Traffic Management Diagrams (TMDs)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in traffic management or civil construction
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate teams
  • High commitment to health, safety and compliance
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • STMS L2/3 Practising, NZTA TTM Worker or Mentor qualifications (desirable)
