Description

As a Trade Support Team Member, you’ll be the heartbeat of the branch providing essential support and clear communication across our trade operations. You’ll work closely with Account Managers, trade customers, and suppliers to ensure a seamless experience and help to build a team culture that nails the basics. With a flexible, can-do attitude, you’ll manage customer inquiries, offer product advice, prepare quotes and pricing, and find solutions to meet customer needs.

Engage with customers and suppliers face to face, over the phone, and via email
Recommend suitable products, process orders, and manage sales documentation
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to track orders and arrange timely deliveries
Take clear briefs from stakeholders and prepare accurate quote documentation
Collaborate with Account Managers and Team Leaders to capture opportunities through daily and weekly planning

Permanent full-time role based at PlaceMakers Takanini, offering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to other Auckland South branches when support is needed.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be more than just a sales support person, you’ll be a natural communicator and relationship builder who understands the needs of our trade customers. Your experience in the building or construction industry, combined with strong knowledge of building materials and products, means you know how to connect with builders, can identify opportunities, and act as a trusted advisor to deliver tailored solutions and assistance.

Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and perform under pressure
Highly organised with sharp attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Tech-savvy and comfortable working across multiple systems
Previous experience in a similar trade customer support role
Strong knowledge of the building materials and a solid understanding of the building and construction industry
Full NZ Class 1 drivers’ licence is a must
Flexibility to travel as and when required to other Auckland South branches
