Description

The Higgins Green Team in Napier are looking for a permanent full time Traffic Management Operative (formerly Traffic Controller) to join the Traffic Management Crew.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for temporary traffic management duties on roadwork sites to achieve safety of the people on site, the public, traffic, and compliance.  You will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 6am-6pm and have the flexibility to work additional hours/days as required.

  • Read Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and load trucks
  • Maintain and ensure plant and equipment are operational
  • Coordinate with STMS to improve productivity and reduce risks
  • Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate with team and stakeholders, maintaining professionalism
  • Perform various additional duties as necessary

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A safety-first attitude – for yourself, your team and the public
  • Current TMO licence (Level 1 minimum)
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s License Class 1 is essential
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated

  • High level of physical fitness
