Enjoy being on site, solving practical problems and seeing your planning turn into construction?
As a Utilities Site Engineer, you will help plan and deliver utility works on Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).

About the Role

  • Interpret drawings, specifications and service layouts, translating them into clear site instructions
  • Support construction planning, sequencing and methodologies for utilities and ducting works
  • Coordinate with design, safety, procurement and construction teams to resolve site issues
  • Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, quantities and cost tracking
  • Apply digital engineering and site tools, including: GPS and setting‑out support, as‑built capture and red‑line markups, CAD‑based as‑built documentation

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, surveying, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure, utilities, services or drainage construction
  • Practical understanding of three waters, utilities or underground services, including ducting and service corridors
  • Working knowledge of construction specifications, standards and service tolerances (e.g. NUO or similar)
  • Confidence reading drawings and coordinating work from design through to as‑built records
  • Experience using GPS, field data capture or CAD/as‑built tools in a site environment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and methodical in a live construction setting

We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too.
