At PlaceMakers Whitianga, we're looking for a hands-on Team Leader - Yard & Drive Thru to lead our team of four and keep our busy trade operation running at its best.

This is more than just a team leadership role. You'll be the driving force behind a safe, productive and customer-focused yard environment, ensuring our trade and building customers receive the fast, reliable service they depend on every day.

What you'll be doing

As the leader of our Yard & Drive Thru team, you'll take ownership of daily operations and set the standard for service, safety and teamwork.

You'll be responsible for:

Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team
Creating a positive culture focused on service, accountability and results
Delivering a seamless experience for our trade and building customers
Driving inventory accuracy and efficient stock management
Championing Health & Safety standards across the branch
Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and customer experience
Supporting day-to-day yard operations and leading by example
Building an engaged team that takes pride in what they do

This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rostered Saturdays.

What you'll bring

You know how to get the best out of people while maintaining a strong focus on customers, safety and operational excellence.

We're looking for someone with:

Team leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
A passion for customer service and team development
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to make decisions and solve problems confidently
Experience in timber, building supplies, trade, warehousing or logistics environments (preferred)
Solid computer and numerical skills
A Full NZ Driver Licence
Forklift licence and/or experience
Strong Health & Safety awareness
A practical, hands-on approach and good level of physical fitness
