The Role

We’re looking for a customer-focused team player to join our Yard & Drive Thru team at PlaceMakers Te Rapa. In this hands-on role, you’ll help our trade customers find and load building products, assist with stock movement, and ensure our yard is safe, tidy, and running smoothly.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values safety, great service, and a can-do attitude. Whether you’re experienced in warehousing or just starting out, we’ll provide the training and support to help you succeed.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Assisting customers with locating and loading building products

• Safely loading/unloading trucks and securing product

• Using yard systems to record product movements and support order processing

• Re-stocking, picking orders, and maintaining stock levels

• Keeping the yard clean, safe, and well-organised

• Supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives

This is a full-time, permanent role, Monday to Friday – rostered Saturdays (8am-1pm) 42.5 hours per week.

About You

You’re practical, reliable, and enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. You take pride in helping customers and working as part of a team. If you’ve got a forklift licence and some experience in customer service or manual handling — great! If not, we’ll help you get there.

We’re looking for someone with:

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one)

• Basic building product knowledge (advantageous)

• Ability to follow direction and take initiative

• Commitment to safety and teamwork
