Clever Core is New Zealand’s largest purpose-designed, off-site home manufacturing facility which produces the core structural components of a home - wall, floor and roof panels in a factory environment, in as little as a day. This core is then assembled on site over another 24 hours and finished within only 6-10 weeks (compared for 22 weeks for a standard build).
While offsite manufacturing is only beginning in New Zealand, in Europe, it’s considered best practice for streamlining the production of homes as scale and pace.
We are looking for someone to start part-time (16 hours a week) and eventually transition to a full-time role in January 2022.
The Financial Accountant will have day to day responsibilities for the Clever Core accounting function and report to the Finance Manager. You will be meeting regularly with the GM of Clever Core and the Manufacturing Manager to report on performance and strategic initiatives for the plant.
The purpose of the role is to ensure a high level of quality, precision and timeliness of the accounting for and internal reporting of Clever Core business including budgeting, forecasting and reporting. You will also be providing accounting and analytical support to the Finance Manager and General Manager of Clever Core. Below is a list of the duties / responsibilities you can expect to cover in this role.
- Day to day responsibility for the Clever Core accounting function
- Management of month end close of general ledger, including the reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts.
- Prepare month end reports, journal entries and reconciliations including relevant Hyperion schedules for FB Group reporting
- Ensure accurate financial analysis and forecasts are available to meet all reporting deadlines both internal and external (i.e. R&LD division and FB Group)
- Review excess and obsolete inventory and propose reserve adjustments as required
- Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and tax return

The most important attribute we are looking for is someone that is a team player, with a positive, can do attitude that is driven to deliver results for their and our business. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is CA/CPA qualified or close to receiving their qualification, has worked in a manufacturing or supply chain environment and has a good understanding of cost accounting ERP systems (Clever Core use Dynamics 365).
