The Opportunity
Higgins are a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand and we’re on a dynamic growth path, building tomorrows New Zealand with people at the heart of what we do every day.

To maintain and build on our position in the market, we’re looking for a Bid Writer to write proposals that articulate our value proposition and provide customers with compelling reasons (with supporting data) to engage Higgins to deliver their projects.

Working alongside the Commercial Bid Team, you’ll collate information for the written proposal, write, administer and update the tender plan; coordinate requirements with contributors and provide proposal status information to review meetings.

About You!
You will have the ability to write effective, concise and compelling content, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Your ability to extract and gather accurate, high quality information from stakeholders (internal and external) in order to produce proposal material is essential. You will have excellent research skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into plain English. The ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance environment is essential.  You will have between 3 – 5 years’ experience in writing tenders/bids. Industry experience will be highly advantageous.

We require someone with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong experience in the use of the range of Microsoft products (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is another strength we will be looking for.

What’s in it for you?
So, if you are a creative writer with excellent communication skills and attention to detail and you thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment, this could be the role for you.  We offer the opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive and engaged team, to bring excitement to influence and lead change and of course, great employee benefits for you and your family!
