New Zealand Distribution is a division within Fletcher Building and is probably better known through two of its major brands – PlaceMakers and Mico.

PlaceMakers is NZ’s leading and largest supplier of building materials and Mico are the same within the plumbing and bathware sectors. Between the two, they have a footprint of over 135 locations across New Zealand. We, the Learning Team, are a very close knit, high performing team of 6 (soon to be 8) who have developed a reputation within FB for our innovation, agility and ability to think outside of the box! We are looking for two new Learning Business Partners to join us; one responsible for learning within PlaceMakers, the other responsible for learning within Mico. 

Whilst both businesses have always had a strong focus on learning, the pace of change is one which now requires dedicated learning partners to align, develop and deliver learning to match business needs. 

You will report to the Learning & Organisational Development Manager for NZ Distribution but will be ultimately accountable for the learning activity which happens in your business unit be it PlaceMakers or Mico. 

What are we looking for?
We need two capable learning business partners who have proven experience developing role-based learning pathways; assessing learning needs and developing / delivering content to address gaps against business requirements. 

You will need to have:
  • Proven aptitude with developing and maintaining learning frameworks (needs assessment, capability mapping, content development, delivery, reporting)
  • Facilitation experience and the ability to engage quickly with diverse audiences 
  • Experience in coaching either through formal training or in roles as a manager / mentor / coach of others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; being able to come up with unique solutions and grasp opportunities when you see them
  • A desire to work autonomously with strong drive to achieve targets and project milestones
  • Efficient organisational skills and sound ability to forward plan
You will be a strong relationship builder – we have great relationships in place and the business values us as a function they can come to for advice and support – so we are looking for someone who will quickly develop credibility, rapport and trust with a wide range of stake-holders. Customer service must be important to you as this underpins everything we do here! If we make promises or say we are going to do something, then follow through is critical.
