We are team Iplex - we’re over 200 team members strong and we’re highly passionate about delivering plastic pipeline systems in New Zealand.  We have team members working in manufacturing and distribution in Palmerston North, Christchurch and Ashburton, with our commercial head office based in Auckland.  

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team, based at our Christchurch manufacturing plant.  

About the role
You will ensure that Iplex manufactured products are inspected and assessed against rigorous quality standards – and released into the market with a high level of confidence. You will conduct and lead appropriate tests on products and maintain laboratory equipment. 

This is an opportunity to train and mentor Quality Control Operators (QCs) rostered on shift, ensuring the team adhere to the required standards and processes involved in quality testing. 
A few key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): 
  • Provide regular laboratory and QC support for the Iplex Christchurch site with weekly visits to the Iplex Ashburton site
  • Maintain accurate manufacturing quality records through processes and systems 
  • Make final recommendations on manufactured product quality to key stakeholders on site & identify opportunities for improvement
  • Assisting with product investigations and customer queries
About you 
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess experience within a manufacturing environment. Prior experience within a mechanical testing laboratory environment is key to your success in this role. 

You will need to possess a genuine drive to ensure accurate quality standards are upheld, as demonstrated by your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You’ll ideally be highly proficient in MS Office and be confident to pick up new IT systems and software quickly. 

You will be confident in your decision-making skills and be able to demonstrate agility in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will need a full, clean NZ Drivers Licence.
