The Opportunity

We are looking for a Regional EHS Manager to support the National EHS and Regional Business Unit Operations team in providing hands-on support at a shop floor level, as well as specialist advice and counsel on EHS matters. This multi-site role will have you “leading the leaders”, driving best-practice across manufacturing, distribution and sales, at differing stages of safety maturity and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Engage & influence operational stakeholders & managers across all levels of the organisation
  • Lead ICAM investigations and analyses
  • Drive EHS and site safety awareness via established frameworks & tools
  • EHS planning & systems management
  • Internal site auditing and continuous improvement of systems such as AS4801/ISO45001/ISO14001
  • Interpret and implement EHS legislation at state & national level
  • Ensure the business meets and exceeds EHS reporting & compliance obligations
  • Lead and manage proactive hazard & risk management processes across all sites
  • End-to-end injury management including Workers Compensation
  • Lead and manage sustainability processes to mitigate the impact of Operations on the environment, including energy reduction and other initiatives.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS/EHS
  • Detailed knowledge of Work Cover, Rehabilitation, Return to Work and Injury Management legislation
  • Proven ability to positively influence the behaviours of others and elevate a culture of safety towards interdependence
  • Solid training and facilitation skills
  • Experience in EHS auditing and experience gaining and improving on accreditations
  • Experience applying WHS/EHS best-practice processes in manufacturing and supply chain environments
  • Solid understanding of Chain or Responsibility and Dangerous Goods legislation
  • Can-do positive approach and proven experience of working in with teams to achieve shared outcomes
  • A flexible, responsive working style, focused on the “why and how”
  • Advanced excel and data management skills enabling you to extract relevant insights and trends from incident data
