The position we are ready to fill:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter at our Dardunup site. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the plant and equipment. This will be achieved by ongoing routine maintenance and checks, identifying and attending to defective equipment and responding to mechanical breakdowns. You be part of a supportive team environment with a proactive approach to ensuring that the workforce’s health & safety is the number one priority at all times.

  • Sufficient initiative and motivation to be able to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to proactively work within a team
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience in an manufacturing and or mining environment
  • Shows initiative in continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising difficult situations and in making appropriate decisions pertaining to equipment condition and appropriate corrective action.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • 3 - 5 years maintenance experience in wood product manufacturing industry or industrial material processing plant is desirable
  • Experience in installation, operation, service, fault finding, repair and maintenance of plant equipment such as presses, saws, compressors, vacuum and dosing pumps, screens and conveyor systems, heat exchangers, gearboxes, thermal oil equipment and other systems pertaining to fibre milling, and their respective utilities.
  • Competent at basic oxy acetylene gas cutting/welding and electric arc welding repairs.
  • Experienced with compliance to AS/ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Ability to develop Hazard Analysis and risk assessments on assigned jobs.
  • Understanding and commitment to maintenance planning techniques and philosophies.
