About the Role

Are you a Leader or a recent Graduate? Do wish to join a formal 12 month Leadership development journey to kick start your leadership career?   If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Manager to join us join us at our Dardanup Manufacturing Plant.  

In this multi-faceted role, you will maintain morale, motivation and teamwork of the workforce at all times, and you will grow as a highly effective leader.  The role focuses on building teams, reducing costs through increased uptime, increased efficiency, decreased rejects, waste and downgrade whilst minimising expenditure. You will support the continuous operation of the plant during back shifts including Public holidays and over weekends. 

This role will run on a Continuous Shift Roster, working 12 hour shifts and you will be part of the Shift Manager team of three other Shift Managers. You will be responsible for all site activities including Emergency Plan execution, Quality, Environment, Inventory accuracy and Production. 

You will have an exception commitment to workplace safety and operate under the belief that all injuries are preventable. 

Key focuses & responsibilities will include:

This is a leadership role; hence this role sets the tone to inspire their team for high performance.  This role is required to establish a caring culture by providing leadership, direction, motivation, coaching and support to direct reports and the overall team:

  • Provision of sound and strong leadership for all shift employees
  • Commit and reinforce site safety policy and all safety procedures to ensure a healthy and safe workplace environment is maintained
  • Complete Incident/Accident/Hazard/Near miss investigations prior to the end of every shift
  • Ensure all safety issues are addressed, communicated and followed through via the correct processes
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations when required 
  • Lead the workforce during unplanned disruptions by coordinating crewing, support services 
  • Prioritise maintenance work and/or breakdowns
  • Seek opportunities to improve productivity and cost reduction
About You

We are after the following experience, skills & traits:
  • Has the ability to build highly effective teams is the Leader everyone wants.
  • A person that chooses curiosity and a self-driven desire to become a better leader
  • A recent graduate who excels with people and wishes to embark on an exciting Leadership career
  • Recent Graduate or Certificate IV in Frontline Management (Supervising & Learning)
  • 2-5 years Leadership experience – preferably within the manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in manufacturing
  • Project Management experience 
  • Competent use of ASW and Microsoft Programs
  • Approachable/Critical thinking/analytical mindset 
  • Highly effective and persuasive communication style, both written and verbal
