We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Green Team on the Eastern Bay of Plenty Network Outcomes Contract (NOC).

About the role:

This is a great opportunity - working on a maintenance contract that covers the Eastern Bay of Plenty area including Rotorua, Whakatane, Opotiki and Kawerau districts.  The region includes maintenance of 570 km of State Highways and pavement widely diverse in nature including remote coastal roads, rugged logging roads and heavily populated tourist bus trails.

Within this role you will be multi-skilled and a proven leader who is hands on.  You will help deliver a safe, reliable, and resilient Network for our customer.

You will also be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including:

Managing a team of 30 with 3 direct reports

Mentoring and leading your team to help progress them in their career within Higgins

Managing and understanding the budget of $9,000,000 for your portion of the overall contract 

Problem solving and taking the initiative when things ‘outside the square’ pop up

What you’ll bring to the role:

Extensive knowledge and experience in a similar type role 

Experience with plant and people resourcing, managing utilisation and plant costs

Ability to plan, prioritise and schedule work 

High level communications skills with the ability to influence

Ability to build robust and effective relationships with key stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and change constructively

This role will be based out of our Rotorua Branch; however, you may live in the surrounding areas; Taupo, Tauranga, Hamilton, or Whakatane.
