Description:

At Mico New Zealand, we’re proud of our history of serving New Zealand communities for the past 75 years. Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms is New Zealand’s leading specialist supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to trade, retail and commercial customers with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified global building industry company. With 66 branches and over 500 employees throughout New Zealand, we are the biggest name in plumbing and bathroom supplies.

Our Mico Henderson store is a small but well-established branch, boasting a beautiful showroom while also providing trade solutions to a large and loyal trade customer base, residential solutions to home builders and commercial solutions to the local business sector.

About the role:

We have an exciting role, where you’ll join a stable and well-performing branch and enjoy the variety and opportunities of working in a small and experienced team, within a large organisation. At our Henderson branch, we’re committed to improving our customer experience, and we want our staff to have the same passion. We have a new Branch Manager, and we’re on a new path, so come and join our journey!

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will play an integral role within our showroom where you will offer product support and design solutions for our stunning front-of-wall bathroom products. You will be our customers’ first point of contact, so you’ll need to ensure that your customers, who are made up of tradies, businesses and homeowners, are greeted with a cheerful smile and exceptional service.

You will be responsible for maximizing bathroom sales as well as promoting exclusive product offers while keeping up to date with the latest plumbing/bathroom trends and inspiring our customers with a winning in-store experience.

While most of your role will be in the Showroom, the nature of working in a small team means you may also be needed to assist filling in here or there on the odd occasion, such as with Counter Sales, or in the warehouse. You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the chance to progress in the branch, the business, and the organisation.

This is a permanent, fulltime role, working Mondays to Fridays, with rostered Saturdays 9-12 (one-in-three).

About you:

To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength, and you’ll be IT savvy, too. Experience in a sales or retail environment would stand you in good stead for this role, but your attitude and an interest in our industry is what matters.

A strong personal and work ethic is essential, and you’ll operate according to the importance of giving your word to your customers and making them and their needs your priority. Being able to build positive work relationships with the team and work collaboratively with them, will contribute to your own success as much as to the success of our branch.

There may be some manual handling required, and so you’ll need to be physically fit. A full, clean, class 1 drivers’ licence is required.

About what we can offer you:

In return, we’ll offer you a good hourly rate and opportunities for overtime, excellent training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great chances for career development, plus big-company benefits.

Applications close on Sunday, 6th February 2022 (unless the role is filled sooner).

Please note:
  • All offers of employment, will be conditional upon vaccination proof being provided.
  • A full, clean New Zealand drivers’ licence is required.
  • A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required.
  • You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role.
