As an Associate Design & Planning Manager at our Central Auckland branch, your job will be to design, assess and review documentation for Residential developments so we are looking for a technically strong design person who will jump at this challenge.
Your job will be to:
- Assist in the production of suitable designs and working drawings ready to lodge applications for consent.
- Build strong working relationships with consultants and Council
- Work with our Sales Team and acquire feedback from people buying our houses, so that we can accommodate those things into future designs
- Liaise with Construction Supervisors to gain their input on ‘buildability’ – we want you on site as much as possible!
This truly is a collaborative role where you will gain exposure to the full construction life cycle from the client side.
You are likely to be an Architectural Draftsperson, Technician or Designer, that is interested in the Construction process, and how we build things on site. Residential experience would be preferred but we are flexible for the right person. You’ll need to know your way around a set of construction drawings, and you will have a good knowledge of specification writing.
You will be an outgoing person who enjoys working with multi-disciplined teams and consultants including architects, engineers, and council members as well as internal stakeholders to move jobs through the building consent process. You will have an exceptional eye for detail and interest in compliance with building regulations, as well as a flair for design and aesthetics to assist with variations.
If you are looking to gain exposure to client-side Design and Construction, we want to hear from you!
Along with providing a competitive salary and excellent incentive scheme, this role will see you working with a high performing team with a clear vision and goals. And, of course, you’ll also get to enjoy the security, benefits and recognition that come with working for a well-respected business unit within the Fletcher Building Group.
Applications should be made by submitting a CV and cover letter outlining your interest, motivation and what you would bring to this role by way of background, experience and fit for the role and our team. Please apply online.
Please note: All applications received over the Christmas/New Year holiday period will be reviewed from 10th January. All offers of employment are now conditional upon Covid-19 vaccinations as part of our mandate policy.
We welcome your individuality. We are enriched by so many nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We are proud of our diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger.
