Description:

We have an opportunity for a Surveyor to join the Higgins Team on a fixed term contract. You will be working on an exciting new project that is soon to kick off. The SH2 Masterton to Carterton is a Waka Kotahi safety improvement project involving the installation of new roundabouts and 10KM of road widening. Valued at 20M+ this is an excellent opportunity to be involved from the outset through to project completion.

This is a fixed term contract of up to 18 months. You will be project based in Masterton, reporting to the Higgins Napier Branch. Project accommodation can be provided, if required. This is an excellent opportunity for a Surveyor who is looking to continue growing their knowledge, skills and experience by working alongside an experienced and supportive team. 


Role Responsibilities: 
• You will be confident in liasing directly with the client to gather the information you need
• Ability to work with construction drawings and be able to produce setting out data using CAD to transfer accurate set out onto site
• Regular reporting of the progress and construction issues to the project leads
• Assisting in the preparation of formal reports 
• Ensure accuracy and provide quality assurance of survey data
• Strong understanding of all survey principles and procedures

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Experience on previous civil/roading projects in New Zealand
• Diploma in Surveying or relevant industry qualification 
• Strong communication skills, you will be comfortable communicating at all levels
• An understanding of Civil 3D, 12D and LandonLine is advantageous 
• Excellent record keeping and data accuracy
