We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Higgins Team on a fixed term contract. You will be working on an exciting new project that has recently kicked off. The SH2 Masterton to Carterton is a Waka Kotahi safety improvement project involving the installation of new roundabouts and 10KM of road widening. Valued at 20M+ this is an excellent opportunity to be involved from the early outset through to project completion.

This is a fixed term contract until August 2023. You will be project based in Masterton, reporting to the Higgins Napier Branch. Project accommodation can be provided, if required. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career or an established Project Engineer who enjoys project work and is looking for their next move.

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Ideally 3+ years’ experience on New Zealand civils and roading projects in an Engineering capacity
• A tertiary qualification in Engineering (NZDCE or BEng Civils or similar)
• A strong focus on cost control and Quality outcomes. 
• Understanding of the Construction Contracts Act and the knowledge to apply NZS3910 is desirable
• Experience managing project resources including materials and teams/crews is favourable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders and clients.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and general systems aptitude.
