Description:

About us
The Fletcher Building family is a community made up of people who use all their experience, skills and individuality to do amazing work. We are listed on both the NZX and ASX and have some 30 businesses across New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific.

The Group Finance & Performance team has oversight for performance management, financial control, corporate office income and expenditure, settlements, treasury accounting, Group IT accounting, and is a key interface across the Group from a finance perspective.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute Group Accounting Manager to join the team.

In this role you’ll ensure Fletcher Building meets the accounting and reporting requirements that arise by virtue of being a listed issuer in multiple jurisdictions, through the provision of accurate technical accounting assessments and recommendations, delivery of the Group’s Interim and Annual Report to shareholders, and administration and management of LOIS (the Group’s lease accounting software).

You’ll assist in the development of high quality reporting practices that communicate value to investors and analysts through our external reporting programme.  Your project management skills will be put to the test as you oversee the co-ordination and management of various sections of the Group Interim and Annual Report, liaising with external publishers and designers to determine content and ensure consistency of messaging and accuracy of data detailed in these reports.

About you
You’ll hold a relevant tertiary qualification and be CA qualified or equivalent.  You may be ready to leave a Big 4 accounting firm and secure your first commercial role, or perhaps you’re currently in a commercial business looking for the next step in your career.  Either way, you’ll come equipped with in-depth knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and a proven ability to find practical solutions to sometimes complex problems, including those of a technical accounting nature.

Critical to your success will be your exceptional relationship management and communication skills as you’ll be dealing with many different stakeholders, both internally and externally.

What we offer
In addition to joining a highly ambitious and engaged team, this role presents an opportunity to join a wider finance team where there is a clear path, and a strong leadership team, who are focused on attracting, retaining and developing their people in a driven and diverse workforce.
