Fletcher Steel is New Zealand’s leading importer, distributor and processor of steel representing Fletcher Building’s Easysteel, Fletcher Reinforcing, Fletcher Wire Products, Dimond Roofing, Dimond Structural, CSP Pacific and Pacific Coilcoaters brands. We are the strength at the heart of New Zealand’s buildings and infrastructure. Our people work collaboratively using their skills, proactivity and individuality to do amazing work, share our success story and have some fun along the way!
The Dimond Technical and Specification team provides technical leadership to the industry and some 200 employees across 10 sites nationwide. The team thrive on understanding project requirements and customer needs to provide the right solutions and systems, so that the trust we build is reflected in our brand. From DHS purlins to Hibond metal deck flooring and roofing profiles like Dimondek 630, Eurotray and Tricore insulated roof systems, we have developed and refined many industry leading systems over more than 50 years.
Based in Christchurch, the key to this opportunity is raising Dimond’s brand presence with specification of industry leading systems in the roofing and structural markets to specifiers and builders, enhancing our reputation for innovation and quality systems forged over many decades. It’s more than just a title - you can expect to be at the forefront working through practical solutions to building projects and providing pragmatic technical expertise to gain specification along the way.
We need you to share our success story working day to day with specification professionals, uncovering projects and leveraging specification based on knowledge and trust.
You will bring a highly motivated and proactive approach, enjoying freedom and using your natural curiosity to investigate, understand and gain specification of well-thought out solutions that make sense. In essence it will be your strong customer focus and the ability to develop successful business relationships with architects, engineers and builders that counts.
You will be organised and effective, with the ability to identify and exploit opportunities, whilst being familiar with technical principles and code compliance to be a recognised specification partner in roofing and structural systems.
The ease with which you build relationships and utilise your networks balanced with the clarity and simplicity in the way you communicate will be at the heart of everything you do.
Whilst experience in the steel or roofing industry would be great, we are keen to talk to people with relevant experience in the building or a related industry.
