Inventory Controller - Mico Cook Street
- Job Type:Full time
- Business Group:Mico
- Job Reference:
- Closing Date:11 Dec 2022
At Mico New Zealand, we’re proud of our history of serving New Zealand communities for the past 76 years. Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms is New Zealand’s leading specialist supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to trade, retail and commercial customers with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified building industry company. With 68 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand, we are the biggest name in plumbing and bathroom supplies.
Our Mico Cook Street store is a well-established and well-performing branch, boasting a beautiful showroom while also providing trade solutions to a large and loyal trade customer base, residential solutions to home builders and commercial solutions to the local business sector. Our branch is the fastest-growing branch, with the highest volume in the business’s Auckland region.
We have an exciting role, where you’ll join a stable and thriving branch and enjoy the variety and opportunities of working in a small and experienced team, within a large organisation. At our Cook Street branch, we’re committed to improving our customer experience, and we want our staff to have the same passion.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, this is a varied and hands-on role that will see you responsible for counting stock and maintaining stock levels, liaising with suppliers, producing quotes. Working with other team members, you’ll sometimes also be involved in receiving and sorting incoming deliveries, picking/packing and dispatching orders for delivery, and on occasion, delivering to our customers. You may even be needed to work behind the Trade Counter, ensuring that your customers, who are made up of tradies, businesses and home-owners, are greeted with a cheerful smile and exceptional service.
You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the chance to progress in the branch, the business, and the organisation. Product or industry knowledge would be a real bonus, but we have heaps of great training materials, if you’re a willing learner!
This is a fixed term, fulltime (parental leave cover) role, working Mondays to Fridays, with rostered Saturdays.
To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength, and your IT savvy will be a must.
There is manual handling required, and so you’ll need to be physically fit and strong. A forklift licence would be a real bonus!
What we can offer you
In return, we’ll offer you a good hourly rate and opportunities for overtime, excellent training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great chances for career development, plus big-company benefits.
Applications close on Tuesday, 11th December 2022 (unless the role is filled sooner).
• Vaccination status (whether vaccinated or not) is recorded by the business
• A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
• You must currently be legally entitled to live and work in New Zealand, to be considered for this role
We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
