Construction has begun on the Eastern Busway Alliance and is due to be completed in 2026, which has created an amazing opportunity for a Cost & Systems Control Lead to join us while we construct one of Auckland’s significant projects that will make a positive impact on our public transport system.

The Eastern Busway project will create separate lanes for new high-frequency bus services to connect people from Botany, Pakuranga and the surrounding suburbs with the rail network in Panmure. The project includes cycling and walking paths, safety, environment and roading improvements, and a Reeves Road flyover, giving people a range of travel options and more reliable journey times. 

About the role:
  • Working closely with the Commercial Lead/Manager in all project controls methods, procedures and systems
  • Provide visible leadership and technical skills to support successful project management
  • Control all project systems and processes
  • Develop, implement, coordinate and maintain efficient project systems and processes for successful delivery of all administrative and operation requirements
  • Manage project data and reporting of data from all project systems
  • Provide input to the Internal Partners & external Project Weekly/Monthly cost report
  • Provide planning and cost controlling support for the project
  • Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery /completion of the project work
  • Provide cost control and planning advise to the internal team and Alliance Partners as and when required

About you:
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveyor, Engineering or related field or qualified by experience
  • Suitable experience in implementation of business systems and processes and solutions in complex environments
  • Business and data analysis experience
  • Suitable experience working with and Implementing Project Forecasting and Cost Control Systems
  • Effective interpersonal skills – work with, and get the best out of a wide mix of people
  • Effective organisational skills - able to manage time well and prioritise work
  • Intermediate to advance level in MS Office especially Excel
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
